Charlotte Christie was born in Leicester, and until the age of six was raised in the Hamilton neighbourhood of the city. After her parents' separation she moved to several small villages with her mother, before settling in Uppingham, Rutland in 2012. Growing up, Charlotte often accompanied her mother and step father to the theatre during long weekends in London, and was inspired by the writing of plays such as Evita (1978), Les Misérables (1985) and Shakespearean tragedies. In 2018 Charlotte moved to London to begin her degree in Film Studies at Queen Mary, University of London, and has since developed a lasting love for the city - as is often seen in her writing.
An avid reader from a young age, Charlotte drew inspiration from fantasy and science fiction novels, before expanding her reading material to classical novels and philosophy. Charlotte finished writing her first book at age fourteen, finalising the final draft at the age of twenty. From this, she delved into script and screenwriting, drawing inspiration from the films and books she grew up with - her scripts ranging from horror-thrillers to dystopian science fiction and fantasy.- Charlotte Christie is known for Fugue (2023).
